Solar Eclipse celebration coming to Clearwater Beach on April 8: The Pier 60 Sugar Sand Festival and Visit St. Pete/Clearwater have announced a partnership to host an eclipse beach party on Monday, April 8 on Clearwater Beach, according to a news release. The first 2,500 visitors in attendance will receive exclusive collectible eclipse glasses, commemorating the 2024 solar eclipse. (carloseats.com)
Tampa Heights YMCA development project advances: A planned $600 million development project in Tampa Heights for land owned by YMCA is moving forward after an initial approval by Tampa City Council, according to multiple news reports. Councilmember Luis Viera was the only person to vote against the development. The development includes a new YMCA, hotel, office space, retail space, and some affordable housing units.
