Tampa Bay Rays Opening Day is tomorrow, game sold out: Opening Day for the Tampa Bay Rays is tomorrow, March 28 at 4:10 p.m. against the Toronto Blue Jays. Shooting outside Westshore Plaza leaves 1 injured: An investigation is now underway by police after one person was injured Wednesday afternoon in a shooting incident outside Westshore Plaza, according to multiple news reports. Police said the suspect and victim know each other. The injuries to the victim were not life threatening, according to officials. (wfla.com, fox13news.com)
Annual Blueberry Festival begins this weekend in Plant City: Keel Farms is kicking off their annual Blueberry Festival this weekend in Plant City. The festival will run on weekends through April 21. Rats infesting Seminole Heights bus stop in Tampa: Someone call pest control because rats have been building a rat nest known as “Ratlantis” at the corner of Florida and Hillsborough Avenue near the #34 HART bus stop. The owner of Seminole Heights General Store and restaurant is calling the rise of the rats a “health hazard.” Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) says it is the responsibility of City of Tampa to handle the situation. The Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) has arrested a member of Floridians Protecting Freedom, a group that fights for abortion rights. Police say the member from Sarasota County submitted fraudulent signatures and is facing 12 charges of criminal use of personal identification information. The accused man is out on bond.
