Shop hundreds of local businesses this weekend in St. Pete: Shopaplooza is happening today, Nov. 25, and tomorrow, Nov. 26 at Vinoy Park in St. Petersburg. The festival features over 300 local vendors as well as an array of local food and drink options. It is the 13th year of the festival and is co-sponsored by the City of St. Petersburg. (cltampa.com)
The Women’s Institute at Tampa General Hospital (TGH) and Healthy Start Coalition of Hillsborough County have secured a $3 million grant to help fight maternal mortality rates. The program is expected to focus on communities of color, which experience more deaths and health conditions. Community partners in Tampa will also play a role. The grant is expected to enroll about 3,000 expectant mothers in the program and boost telehealth services offered. (baynews9.com)
