More than 29,300 people moved to Polk County last year, according to the data from the government. Florida Orchestra and Sting show in St. Petersburg adds extra day: The Florida Orchestra has added an extra day for their Sting show after tickets sold out for the first show. Cigar City Brewing suffers major layoffs in Tampa: Cigar City Brewing recently experienced major layoffs with 12 staff members reportedly let go, according to multiple news reports. The brewery also recently let go of Brewmaster Wayne Wambles, who is responsible for creating iconic beers, such as Jai Alai. Production is being moved out of state, while the Tampa brewery becomes a R&D facility. Cigar City Brewing is largely credited with having built Tampa’s craft beer movement and many craft beer fans have marked this as the end of an era. (cltampa.com, brewbound.com)
Krispy Kreme is giving away free green donuts when customers wear green this weekend for St. Patrick’s Day in either the drive-thru or the store. The offer is limited to one donut per customer. The donut chain is offering specialty donuts for a limited time in celebration. (wfla.com)
Straz announces 2024-2025 Broadway season shows: The Straz Center for the Performing Arts in downtown Tampa has announced its lineup for the 2024-2025 Broadway season. Performances include "The Boy Who Loves Batman", "Dr. Seuss' How the Grinch Stole Christmas: The Musical,” “MJ: The Musical,” and "Some Like It Hot." Season ticket renewals and new subscriptions will be available beginning Tuesday, April 2. (abcactionnews.com)
