Organizers postpone popular Gasparilla Music Festival due to finances: Gasparilla Music Festival has been postponed due to "financial strain" from "extreme weather conditions.” The event was planned for Julian B. Lane Park. Refunds will be distributed within the next two weeks. (wfla.com)
Florida State Fair releases new fair food for 2025: The Florida State Fair has released their list of new fair food for 2025. The list this year includes a Potato Mozzarella K-Dog, Pierogi Slider, Pretzel-Rolled Corn on the Cob, Seafood Boil Stuffed Potato, and more. This year's festival will run from Thursday, Feb. 6 to Monday, Feb. 17. (wfla.com)
Macy’s shuttering Westshore Plaza location: Macy's is shutting down its store at the Westshore Plaza along with 65 other locations around the country. The closure is part of restructuring for the company. An exact closing date was not given but it will happen this year. (abcactionnews.com)
New Ciccio concept now open in SoHo: Jay Luigi has opened in SoHo at 516 S. Howard Ave. The restaurant is owned by Ciccio Restaurant Group and replaces Luv Child. There is another location of the concept in St. Petersburg. The menu includes pizza and pasta dishes, such as Cacio e Pepe, Carbonara, as well as Luigi's Pomodoro. (thatssotampa.com)
City of St. Petersburg invests in Aquafence for wastewater: City of St. Petersburg is now investing in Aquafence for wastewater after the success of Tampa General Hospital with tech during Hurricane Helene. The city will spend over $600,000 to buy an AquaFence to be placed at Lift Station #85 near Albert Whitted Airport. (wtsp.com)
