Boom by the Bay: Tampa’s annual 4th of July festival, Boom by the Bay, is returning this year to Julian B. Lane Park. The event will feature family-friendly activities, live entertainment, an Apple Pie Throwdown, and a fireworks display. The gathering is being organized by City of Tampa, Tampa Downtown Partnership, Armature Works, Sparkman Wharf, and Friends of the Riverwalk. Fireworks will begin at dusk. 4th of July Celebration at Busch Gardens Tampa Bay: Busch Gardens Tampa Bay will have their annual fireworks celebration at the theme park on 4th of July. There will be a choreographed arrangement of music and lights. Fireworks will be available from July 4-7. Star Spangled Sparkman: Celebrate 4th of July in Water Street in downtown Tampa at Sparkman Wharf. There will be live entertainment, a game zone, face painting, roaming performers, and specials on food. The event is free and open to the public, but space is limited. Kickoff is at 4 p.m. with fireworks at 9 p.m. 615 Channelside Dr, Tampa, FL 33602.
St. Pete Pier Run the 4th: Start Independence Day off with exercise at St. Pete Pier Run the 4th. The 4-mile run and walk showcases the beautiful St. Pete Pier, as well as some of St. Petersburg’s scenic waterfront. Participants will receive a high quality, custom-designed run bib with B-tag timing chip at packet pick-up. Finishers will get a St. Pete Pier inspired finisher medal. Participants have the option of purchasing a race shirt or tank top. Registration costs $60 and can be purchased online. 600 2nd Ave NE St. Petersburg, FL 33701.
Hot Tonic at Left Bank Bistro St. Pete: Enjoy an unforgettable evening with live music by Hot Tonic at The Left Bank Bistro at 6 p.m. on 4th of July. World-renowned musicians led by vocalist and bassist Victoria Woods and guitarist Josh Hindmarsh. The band’s style has been described as a mix of “Postmodern Jukebox meets Amy Winehouse”, fusing jazz, Latin rhythms, funk, and soul with original arrangements.
