Kahwa Coffee opening new drive-thru in South Tampa: Kahwa Coffee has announced a new drive-thru coming to South Tampa at 4530 W. Gandy Blvd. No opening date has been released yet. The location joins over 5 locations in Tampa from the concept and growing. (thatssotampa.com)
Investigation underway after fire at Mamajuana Cafe in Tampa, no one injured: An investigation is now underway after a tiki hut attached to Mamajuana Cafe in Tampa caught fire this past weekend, according to news reports. Authorities said no one was injured in the incident. The restaurant is located at 9202 Anderson Rd. (fox13news.com)
Gov. Ron DeSantis declares that taxpayers will not fund Brightline connection to Tampa, signs anti-transit legislation: Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis held a press conference stating that state funding will not be used to help fund Brightline’s expansion from Orlando to Tampa. DeSantis also signed an anti-transit bill last week. The rhetoric of DeSantis is similar to words said by former Gov. Rick Scott that ultimately led to the death of a planned railway across Florida in 2010 amid rising traffic and congestion across the state. (wusf.org)
Duke Energy planning to reduce energy costs on consumers this summer: Florida Duke Energy will decrease prices on customers this summer in June by about $6 per 1,000 kWh, according to WFTS. The utility company also decreased prices in January. The lower prices are due to a drop in fuel prices, according to the energy company. (abcactionnews.com)
Pasco County municipal elections happening on Tuesday: Pasco County elections are on Tuesday with six city elections happening, according to Tampa Bay Times. Elections are happening in Zephyrhills, Dade City, New Port Richey, San Antonio, and Saint Leo.
