Halloween festivities now underway in Tampa Bay: Spooky season is finally here! If you’re looking for something cool to do there are plenty of options. There is Howl-O-Scream at Busch Gardens, Creatures of The Night at ZooTampa, Sir Henry’s Haunted Trail in Plant City, Harvest Moon Farm Pumpkin Patch at Masaryktown, and more. Red Tide detected near Pinellas County beaches: Officials have detected Red Tide in Pinellas County. The main areas impacted are St. Pete Beach, Madeira Beach and the Dunedin Causeway. Residents may have trouble breathing near impacted areas. It is unclear when the algae bloom will clear. (wfla.com)
Tampa Bay Lightning announce $2 million in Helene relief: The Tampa Bay Lightning have announced $2 million in relief for Hurricane Helene. Funds will go to first-responders including Coast Guard officers, police officers, firefighters, sheriff's offices and teachers. Ferman Motor Car Company Inc. has also donated $1 million. (wtsp.com)
The Rocky Horror Picture Show happening Friday at Mahaffey Theater: The Rocky Horror Picture Show is happening this Friday, Oct. 4 at 8 p.m. at The Duke Energy Center for The Arts – Mahaffey Theater. Pinellas County barrier islands reopen for residents and workers after Helene: The barrier islands have reopened in Pinellas County. Only people who live there and work in the community are allowed to access the area. Officials request that people refrain from going for leisure activities. (wusf.org)
