Tampa native competing on Food Network’s “Ciao House” show in Italy: Food Network’s “Ciao House” show has a Tampa native competing in Italy. Phuoc Vo of Tampa is on Season Two of the show. According to the Food Network’s official site for the show, Vo “was raised in a traditional Vietnamese family surrounded by incredible food.” (wfla.com, foodnetwork.com)
Rays stop the bleeding with victory against Royals: The Tampa Bay Rays secured a 4-1 victory over the Kansas City Royals on Sunday at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg. Pinellas County beach ranked among best in the nation by Dr. Beach: Caladesi Island State Park in Dunedin has been ranked in the Top 10 beaches in the U.S.A. at no. 4 by Dr. Beach. The island can be reached by ferry, private boat, or a long walk and is open daily. The real name of Dr. Beach is Stephen Leatherman and he works at Florida International University (FIU) in South Florida. (wtsp.com)
Free dental services offered in Lakeland next week for those in need: Florida Mission of Mercy is offering free dental care to those in need in Lakeland at RP Funding Center at 701 W Lime St. on May 31 and June 1. At least 1,500 doctors will join the effort with services including dental cleanings, root canals, extractions and more. Doors open at 7 a.m., but those interesting should come as early as possible. At least 2,000 people are expected to be served by the group. (wmnf.org)
