Daiso Japanese store opening soon in Tampa: Daiso, a popular Japanese discount store, is opening in Tampa on Feb. 1 at 15702 N. Dale Mabry Hwy in Carrollwood. There will be promotions for the opening including that the first 100 customers who make a $30 purchase at this location each day will receive a goodie bag. Tampa Police on high alert for Gasparilla festivities after New Orleans attack: Tampa Police are on high alert for Gasparilla after the attack on New Year’s in New Orleans. Attendees can text "Gasparilla" to the number 888-777 for updates from authorities in the event of an incident. Police are also reminding residents that Gasparilla Kids Parade is alcohol-free.
