Tampa Bay Ray's’ Wander Franco still missing in Dominican Republic: Suspended Tampa Bay Rays shortstop Wander Franco failed to show up for questioning after being summoned by authorities in the Dominican Republic in a criminal inquiry. Franco has been missing for days now after a raid failed to give police clues to his whereabouts. Developer launches lawsuit against Hillsborough Co. over golf course land: Hillsborough County is expected to respond to a lawsuit over zoning laws from G.L. Acquisitions. The company wants to build developments at the old Pebble Creek Golf Course and claims the county illegally blocked the development The county has faced and lost a similar lawsuit earlier in 2023. Local governments receive millions in federal funding for transportation: City of Tampa and Pasco County have received millions in federal funding to help with transportation needs. City of Tampa plans to join forces with USF's Center for Urban Transportation Research to help find ways to improve safety on the roads. (wusf.org)
Precautionary boil notice impacted thousands in Hillsborough Co.: Hillsborough County Water Resources issued a boil notice to over 23,000 properties on Wednesday "out of an abundance of caution" after a water main burst. There is no evidence of contamination as of Wednesday and the boil notice was lifted as of Friday morning.
