Welcome to the first edition of Tampa Today News. I’m your host Carlos Hernandez, bringing you the latest in all news and happenings around the Tampa Bay area.
A little background on me: I have written updates on the local news since 2020, when the pandemic began.
I moved to Tampa when I was nine years old from San Francisco. Tampa has grown considerably since my family moved across the nation. I started writing in 2010 with my food blog Carlos Eats. I have written hundreds of articles about restaurants and the dining scene around Florida, California, and other places since then. I freelanced in the past with Creative Loafing Tampa, NewsBreak, Patch News, Edible Tampa Bay, and other outlets.
I graduated from the University of South Florida in 2014 with a bachelor’s degree in International Relations.
I’m also a social media expert. I built my following for my food blog on Facebook, Twitter (now known to some people as X), Instagram, and other online channels. I have worked in marketing, social media, and public relations for over 10 years. As much as I love writing, it doesn’t always pay the bills.
So what is this newsletter going to cover? The latest happening in Tampa. I’ll stay informed on the latest happening and keep you updated. I want to tell you about what’s happening in your local government, what events are happening, and what you need to know. I’ll also update you on restaurant openings, new businesses, and other things deemed important.
